Parish Family Life
Parish Family Life is one of the committees comprising the Ministry of Pastoral Care. Parish Family Life answeres the need of coming together to be nourished in fun and fellowship. Areas of focus for Parish Family Life are:
- Special Events (Reception for Bishop's Visitation; Funerals)
- Picnics
- Ballgames
- Parish Family Weekend
- Intergenerational Opportunities (Ministry Fair)
The purpose of the Parish Life committee is to promote fellowship and provide activities for the parish family and others who are attending our church. Our work is to promote stimulating activities in an environment of Christian fellowship. The committee is made up of St. David’s members and other St. David’s attendees who would like to join and participate in planning and carrying out these activities throughout the year. Some of the activities and opportunities in which one can participate or become involved throughout the year are Wednesday Night Suppers (Movie Night during the summer months), Agape Meal on Maundy Thursday during Lent, Spaghetti Supper fundraiser, Coffee Hour Ministry (refreshments and coffee are prepared and shared with parishioners and visitors following Sunday worship services), Men’s Group, Tuesday Bridge Group, and Honors Group. Two parish family events are generally held each year: one at Lake Logan in North Carolina and another at the Camp Gravatt Camp and Conference Center in Aiken, SC.
Additional responsibilities that fall under the Parish Life Committee are to maintain the upkeep of the Parish Hall and to assist in the scheduling and monitoring of the activities that are held there. Members of the committee spend many hours in working to carry out successful functions in our Parish Hall. For more information and/or to volunteer, you may contact
