Estate planning is something that needs to be taken care of now rather than later, yet most of us tend to put it off, thinking there is always time to “do it later”. But to make sure our affairs are carried out how we want them, it is important that it is understood what will happen if there is no will or if a will is not updated to reflect changes that may have occurred, what the different types of powers of attorney mean, what a living will entails, what it means to leave “in trust” and the different type of trusts; to put it quite simply, understanding all of the legal jargon.
