The Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is made up of the youth of the parish. All youth in the 6th-12th grades are considered a part of the EYC and are always welcome to join us for meetings, events and trips geared for them. We meet on Wednesday nights from 7-8:30pm. During the school year the youth are invited to gather with the adults of the church for a meal in the parish hall beginning at 6:30pm. Starting on June 11th we will begin our summer schedule, 7-9pm, as we gather to watch a movie each Wednesday during the summer (popcorn and sodas are provided).
We have two events upcoming. The first is a cookout on June 4th. We will meet at the church at 5:45pm and caravan/carpool over to Royal Roseberry’s. The second is a convocation float trip on Sunday, August 17th. We will come to church wearing our bathing suits underneath our clothes. After church we will make pizzas in the kitchen and have lunch. We will then go to the river behind the zoo to put in by 1:30 and float down the river to the West Columbia River Walk park by the Gervais Street bridge, where dinner will be provided. We will be getting back to the church around 6:30 that evening. This is a youth convocation event so all youth 6-12 grades are welcome to join us. You may register online at www.Trinitysc.org/youthfloattrip the cost is $20.00 per person (chaperones are welcome). Upon registering you should receive an e-mail confirmation with a waiver form to be completed and given to Bobby Jones prior to the event. River guides for this trip will be provided by Adventure Carolina.
Lastly, mark your calendars now for a youth retreat set for January 16-18, 2015.
