We welcome those who come from many different experiences. People from both Catholic and Protestant traditions often find they are “at home” in the Episcopal Church for a number of reasons, including:

  • We are centered in the Eucharist (the Holy Communion). Our belief in the reality of the Christian community is nowhere more evident than when we gather around the Lord’s Table in His name.
  • Worship is liturgical – it’s more than words: it involves movement, color, action, and participation, which means the congregation is involved. Worship means participation of all the people of God in Word and Sacrament.
  • We are Biblically based. You will learn about Scripture in our church. The Episcopal Church maintains that God’s word as revealed in the Scripture is central to our faith, but does not require any particular conformity in regard to how the Bible must be interpreted.
  • We find that we learn much from each other’s perspectives and points of view on the great issues of faith and life.
  • We stay involved in the world. We are called into the fellowship in Christ’s name so we can then go out to serve Him. Our real ministry is outside the walls of St. David’s – where we live, work, go to school, and live our lives. Human issues and problems lead us into active service in Christ’s name.

Your priest at St. David’s welcomes the opportunity to visit those in the hospital and the home-bound and to administer communion to those who wish to receive. Please let the church office or the priest know your needs.
