Dear Fellow Parishioner,
This is the start of St. David’s Annual Stewardship Campaign.
Stewardship is about being grateful, responsible stewards of the gifts we receive from God. The tradition of giving back to God and to the church comes from the Biblical practice of "tithing," which means to give back a tenth of our earnings to God (Numbers 18:26). The Episcopal Church sees stewardship as more than simply contributing money to the church; it's also about contributing your time and talents, and volunteering for ministry and mission. It's about reaching out to build relationships from a perspective of abundance instead of scarcity.
Pledges of annual financial giving not only help us plan our church budget, but are a sign that we recognize that God is the source of all that we have. We understand commitments to giving as an important spiritual practice of Christian discipleship.
At St. David's, we have a stewardship committee and it is these people who take their valuable time to meet with parishioners, not only to ask for pledges, but also to enlighten you on the many different opportunities for you to utilize your talents. Please take note of ministry areas seeking your support as shown on the Pledge Card. A brief description of each area is below.
Please consider a 12% increase in 2017 to fully fund all ministries.
